KTX is the high-speed train which was opened on December 21st, 2017. The train runs at a maximum speed of 250km/h and it takes two hours from Seoul to Gangneung and an hour and half from Cheongnyangni to Gangneung.
Tickets can be purchased a month in advance, from 7:00 A.M. to 20 minutes before the departure of the train, at the station or through KorailTalk (Mobile Application) or via the official website.

Taking an express bus is a convenient way to get to Gangneung from Seoul. You can take an express bus from the Express Bus Terminal or Dong Seoul Terminal.
It is convenient to take the subway from the airport to get to either of the two bus terminals. The Express Bus Terminal is located on subway lines 3, 7 and 9 (Express Bus Terminal Station), while the Dong Seoul Terminal is located on subway line 2 (Gangbyeon Station).
